\"printable51.jpg\"<\/a>I just read a very interesting article about the Dalai Lama in Time Magazine<\/a>, it was given to me by my mom. She and I had had a conversation about what would make the perfect government or leader. This led us to talk about Dalai Lama. I did some reading about him on his web page. I would encourage every one to look at his site. What he says is so simple and yet makes more sense then any politician ever has.<\/p>\n

1. Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk.<\/p>\n

2. When you lose, don’t lose the lesson.<\/p>\n

4. Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.<\/p>\n

5. Learn the rules so you know how to break them properly.<\/p>\n

6. Don’t let a little dispute injure a great friendship.<\/p>\n

7. When you realize you’ve made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.<\/p>\n

8. Spend some time alone every day.<\/p>\n

9. Open your arms to change, but don’t let go of your values.<\/p>\n

10. Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.<\/p>\n

11. Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and think back, you’ll be able to enjoy it a second time.<\/p>\n

12. A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation for your life.<\/p>\n

13. In disagreements with loved ones deal only with the current situation. Don’t bring up the past.<\/p>\n

14. Share your knowledge. It’s a way to achieve immortality.<\/p>\n

15. Be gentle with the earth.<\/p>\n

16. Once a year, go someplace you’ve never been before.<\/p>\n

17. Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other.<\/p>\n

18. Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.<\/p>\n
