we set protection, it was a 6 pitch climb

With your mom reading your blog I probably shouldn’t say this, but can you free climb that mountain?

“Free climb” means to climb without yarding on the rope or using artificial handholds/footholds. The rope is used only for protection in case of a fall. Obviously they did that.
What you really mean is could he “free solo” it? That is, climbing without a rope or using any artifical means whatsoever. (If you fall you die.) Not a good question.
