so this past weekend was the last weekend of my weekend climbing class. That’s right i am now free on the weekend. I do not have to worry about getting up at 530 am and going climbing. I must say though it was my best class that i have every taken before. In between climbing we learned about communication team building and just a ton of good skills that will help me throughout my life. Our final test was to build an anchor and rappel off a 140 foot cliff. We did it and it was the most fun i had every had in my life. I got two chances to go off the cliff. The first time i was very careful and took it easy, just taking my time, i got to the bottom and i was very happy with myself about that. Me being me, this careful pattern was not going to repeat it self. As i approached the edge of the cliff, i looked down, took a deep breath, and jumped. Almost in a free fall i grabbed onto the rope and swung back in to the cliff. Heart pounding adrenalin pulsating through my veins, I jumped again and again. I found a flow of jumping flying and falling……one of the best times of my life. I know not every one is a thrill seeker like i am but i must say to have that feeling of flying was good to get back…..now i just cant wait for snowboarding this year…..60 foot gap here i come
Sounds like fun, Chris. And I’m delighted you did NOT take photos!
More fun than teetering on a rickety wooden ladder with a preposterously heavy beam on your shoulder? Or catching a flying slug tossed by a well meaning boss?
No photos? I’d a loved to have been there, video cam in hand. But I’m sure there will be other opportunities.
