The american flag, it carries with it this strong stigma. America, that term holds a lot of weight. In order to fly the flag you must have the pride in your place to say this here is american. At my place of work we fly a flag and there are certain rules that go along with flying a flag. There is a correct way to fold it and there is an incorrect way to fold it, you are supposed to take it down every night, and in bad weather. I am not afraid of the dark, or the rain, or the thunder. My flag for which I am proud, will fly when I am at strength. I do not hide, it will not hide, for I am the new american. An american who is not afraid of the change that comes with darkness, or foul times. I am an american who is here to look forward. Learn from the past to change the future for the better of the swarm.

I know you, so I think your comments here are born of youthful exuberance and a young person’s resistance to old rules, nothing more. But I’d caution you on accusing others of cowardice for following conventions of respect for our flag. Plenty of people have died for Old Glory and what it stands for, and their courage and sacrifice are admirable in the extreme. Proper flag handling is even written into U.S. law. See http://www.ushistory.org/betsy/flagetiq.html. It’s good that we are a nation of laws.

many have died for this flag, i respect that every day, the people that fight for my country i respect. Unfortunately, the descion’s that our country makes to go to war for profit of special interest is crazy, We all fly our flag for our reason, fly it for a reason, love it, respect it. Lets move forward while respecting the past.
